Maths 1 Maths: Geometry Safar

Hello,
This term for maths we have been learning in a team. We went on a Geometry Safari around the school grounds to see how many 2D and 3D shapes we could find. Then we had to write what we had found into a table. I worked in a group with Manea, Kayla, Mikalya, Ngarino and I. You can see ours below.

whitebait fish bone

Kia Ora,

Team Moana has been given a tast for this week. The tast is based on whitebait this week. I have done a fish bone diagram for whitebait. A fish bone diagram is a tast which is based on Mrs Gren. Mrs Gren is Movement, Respiration, Senses, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion and Nutrition. That is what Mrs Gren means.

Hangi

Hello everyone

Last week, my class was doing a hangi. We had some help from our school's care taker Matua Ken and  a dad. They dug the hole, putting the iron and rocks in and out of the hole.  What a lot of hard mahi that was! My whole class loved the food after it was done. We all enjoyed the hangi and we loved having to watch and getting some more experience for when we get older. Here are some photos at the hangi.

Christmas Decorerations.

Hello everyone,
Today I created a Christmas flower to sell at my school whanau evening and
also the talent show also at my school. We are doing this for Team Moana’s ski
trip next year and we are fun rising for the ski trip because we don’t have
enough money for it.

How I made it is that:
1. I got some of the toilet rolls and cut it into straight long pieces
2. Then I opened the pieces and grabbed the leftovers and burned it a little bit
and some in the bits of toilet rolls
3. Then you hot glue gun them altogether
4. Then I painted it pink
5. Then I put glitter and a snowflake on it and then let it dry.
6. Then…… your done

What didn’t I like?
I didn’t like how the power went out while doing the work.

What I enjoyed?

I enjoyed making the Christmas flower and decorationing the flower.

Planning x - mas decorations

Hello everyone,

My class was making Christmas decorations for a whanau evening at my school and we are fun rising for our team moana ski trip next year.  Before we did all the fun stuff we did a planning on a google drawings. For my decoration I did a wreath. If you don't know what a wreath is well it is like what you hang on your door and has leaves and cherries on it. Well here is my planning on my google drawings.

My ambition for 2020

This year I am a year 5 at Ohaeawai Primary.
I have enjoyed trying to make and be a good example for the juniors and the school.
My favourite thing that has happened is helping out other people when they feel sad, hurt or getting angry with other people.
My least favourite thing is not being there when something really bad is happening and other people are not there to help them.

Next year I am a year 6. My goal for 2020 is to help pick up rubbish and if it goes in farmer's paddock we won't do cross country and I want to keep the school green.
I want to do something to help others, make the school green, to be the I can be and to be a good person to others to be a young leader.
My learning so far has been really fun for me but I will always finish something hard. I will be caring and reliable in the classroom to be the best I can be, to show that I am a really good supporter and that I am trustworthy so I can give a message or get anything from the printer.

Margaret Peters Spelling

Kia ora everyone
Today, we sat the Margaret Peters Spelling Test. I scored 38 which gives me a spelling age of 11.0.
I think I got this result because I am not the best speller but I am good at trying out my words and double checking it.
